James Castleton , Class of 2002
James was elected captain for our first two seasons, along with being selected as the Inspirational Award winner during both his junior and senior years. James is a three-time letter award winner and competed at the state tournament as a senior and as a sophomore for Rogers HS. James was one of the first two SPSL Tournaament finalists during his senior year.
James holds many team records and school "firsts," including the first win, first tournament champion (with Bentley), and first major decision. Following his senior year, he led the team in career wins and winning percentage, He is a two-time member of the 20-win club and during his senior year joined the Ironman Club. James was our frist two-time Wrestler of the Week.
James attended Pierce College as part of the Running Start program and earning his Associates Degree while in high school. Castleton was also involved in his church where he is a member of the choir and a second counselor to the president in his Priests Quorum. He also earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America.
He will always remember the Rogers match. “The band and the loud crowds on each side. Seeing all of my old friends. Having my final divorce from Ram Pride. Arguing the whole week before the match that a jaguar could take out a ram anyday with my brother Seth.”
James is currently working to prepare for his church mission starting in January, 2003.. |
