SUB-REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

Girls Sub-Regional at Auburn

The Girls won their first Sub-Regional Tournament and seven of our nine girls advanced to Regionals, with the other to qualifying as alternates. Dallas Welker won our first Girls Sub-Regional title.

February 8-9

4th Place Finish

We placed fourth as a team (out of 19) and advanced 5 wrestlers to the state tournament. Erik Halsey won the 189 pound weight class while Gabe Weber (140) and Mitch Steed (171) finished 2nd. Braedan Binkiewicz pinned 4 opponents in a total of 1:48 to finish in 3rd place. Kyler Koppelman qualified for his second state tournament by finishing 4th at 215.

February 9

Sophomore Kaylee Carr became the first girl at Emerald Ridge to qualify for the state wrestling tournament. Kaylee won a tough final match to place fifth at 160 pounds. Senior Madeline Hyatt finished in 6th place and qualifies as an alternate to state at 130 pounds.

February 15-16

State Tournament @ Tacoma Dome
Braedan Binkiewicz placed 6th at 285 while Gabe Weber was 7th at 140.
