Jaguar Wrestling "Wrestler of the Week" for 2003-2004

Wrestler and description of their week
Week 1

Robbie Schlecht
(senior) started his season with three straight pins at the Eastlake Triple Duals.
Week 2

Josh Howard
(senior) Josh won the Wilfong Invitational at Puyallup HS defeating his teammate in the finals. Josh became the first Jag Wrestler to win two titles at a tournament. Howard also had a pin against Federal Way.
Week 3

Garrod Forbes
(senior) Forbes won the 171 pound Cardinal Classic and recorded his tenth pin of the season in eleven wins. Forbes also set a new varsity fastest pin record of 13 seconds during the Cardinal Classic.
Week 4

Robbie Schlecht
(senior) Schlecht won his 2nd W.O.W award after losing his first match at the Pacific Coast Championships, then winning four straight loser-out matches to come back and place 8th.
Week 5

TJ Smith
(sophomore) TJ won his 15th JV match and recorded his 14th JV pin, breaking the team record of 13. TJ also won his fourth JV tournament at Clover Park this week.
Week 6

Keith Schlecht
(sophomore) Keith lost a close seim-final match at the Jaguar Invite, then came back to place third with three fall on the day. Schlecht was also 1-1 in duals this week.
Week 7

John Mejia
(junior) John was 3-0 this week during our dual meets against Beamer and Rogers.
Week 8

Justin Skavlem
(senior) Skavlem won the Jefferson Tournament this weekend over teammate Grant Woodruff in the finals.
Week 9

Brynsen Brown
(junior) Brown continued to wrestle well placing second at 189 pounds behind defending state champ Kyle Bressler. Brown pinned his three opponents putting him into the finals.
Week 10

Keith Schlecht
(sophomore) became one of two sophomores to qualify for the state tournament with his second place finish in the Regional Tournament. Schlecht won a close semi-final against Inglemoor to gain the state berth.
Week 11

Brynsen Brown
(junior) Brown wrestled Kyle Bressler for the third straight week, which meant he finished second in state. Brown won his first two matches by first-round pins, the earned his way into the finals with a major decision. He becomes our first finalist.
