State Tournament

Feb. 20-21, 2004

25th Place

History was made as Brynsen Brown became our first wrestler to compete in the state finals, and became ER's highest state placer in any sport. Brown pinned both of his opponents on Friday in the first round, then won his semi-final match by a major decision 15-5. For the third straight week, Brown wrestled Decatur's Kyle Bressler. Bressler won his second state title by defeating Brown 11-4.

Keith Schlecht won his first match at 145 by a major decision. In his next match he lost to the eventual runner-up. In the third match on Friday Schlecht lost to a district rival, just missing out on a top-8 placing in state. Nick Webster and Garrod Forbes competed well but lost their first two matches.

As a team, the Jaguars finished 25th in state with a team-record 26 points.
