In our final league dual meet, Emerald Ridge defeated Bethel 34-29 to finish in a tie for second place in the SPSL South. This is the second year the Jags finished second in league at 6-2. In the first ten matches, the teams battled back and forth. Emerald Ridge sealed the match with three straight wins from 119 to 130. Sean Forbes' pin at 130 gave Emerald Ridge a nine point lead with one match to go. Other pins were recorded by Garrod Forbes, Garin Heslop and Brian Nieblas. In the JV match Emerald Ridge won nine of the twelve matches wrestled including two pins by Brynsen Brown, and falls by Nick Slead and James Mayhak.

On our second Senior Night, Emerald Ridge was able to get every avalable senior into the varsity line up for a win over the visiting Washington Patriots. Both teams gave up 2 forfeits and the other ten matches were exciting. At 119, Fernando Rodriguez earned a one-point victory over Demetrius Johnson in a great match. Louis Bernardo once again scored ten takedowns in a dual match, giving him 88 on the season.

SPSL JV Qualifying Tournament

Five Jaguars qualified for the SPSL Tournament next weekend by placing in the top three in the JV Qualifier. Brynsen Brown and Rick Roennau both won their weight classes. James Mayhak, Tomas Armenta and Kelly Thompson placed third. Five other Jag Wrestlers came close in good matches: Alivio, Mejia, Folk, Henson and Skavlem.
