Louis Bernardo put the sealed the Jags' first-ever victory over Decatur, holding on in the last seconds for a 10-7 victory at 171. Josh Howard moved up to heavyweight for the dual and started the match off with a pin. Calvin Lovering finished the night with a pin, making the final score 39-24 in favor of Emerald Ridge. There were many good matches, but the dual turned on the 140 pound bout, where ER's Jason Boyd caught his opponent to pin him while trailing in the match. James Mayhak won his JV match by fall, and Justin Skavlem won 2 matches during the JV dual. John Mejia and T. Vu scored 45 points in their match before it ended on a locking hands penalty.

Scoring the most points we have ever scored in a varsity tournament, Emerald Ridge placed second behind Peninsula HS at the Franklin Pierce Cardinal Classic. Another record was set with four individual tournament champions: Sean Forbes, Robbie Schlecht, Louis Bernardo, and Brynsen Brown (who pinned all three of his opponents, 0:41, 2:21 and 1:35). Phillip Baum and Daniel Smith placed second. Garrod Forbes was third. All 15 of our varsity competitors placed in the top 6. Peninsula scored 204.5 points placing first and we scored 187, out-distancing third place Steilacoom at 138. In the JV compeition four Jags won all of their matches and placed first: Nick Slead, James Mayhak, AJ Henson and Rick Roennau.
