We started our SPSL season with a win over Federal Way, winning 11 of 13 matches, four by pin and two by technical fall. Pins were recorded by Daniel Smith, Kelly Thompson, Calvin Lovering and Fernando Rodriguez. Technical falls by Phillip Baum and Louis Bernardo along with a major decisiosn by Josh Ward and Brian Nieblas helped seal the victory. In the JV matches Garrod Forbes and Todd Folk won their matches by pin while Justin Skavlem won his by a mjor decision.

Varsity at Wilfong Viking Classic |
The Jags participated in the George Wilfong Invitational on Saturday, placing fifth out of nine teams. Josh Howard won the 215 pound weight class, and Fernando Rodriguez (119), Robbie Schlecht (152) and Brynsen Brown (189) finished as runners-up. Finishing fourth were Phillip Baum (103), Josh Ward (130), Daniel Smith (145) and Louis Bernardo (171). Jason Boyd (140) was fifth while James Mayhak (125) and Kelly Thompson (160) were sixth. Stanwood won the tournament followed by Rogers. We finished 7.5 points behind Bellarmine with 99.5. Two varsity wrestlers were out of the lineup and we did not wrestle anyone at 112 or 275. |

At the Franklin Pierce JV Tournament, everyone won at least one match, with Justin Skavlem and Garrod Forbes taking first place in their brackets. Rick Ronneau and Jake Blubaugh were second, while John Mejia, Corey Stephenson, Craig Collins, Jerry Scherer, Shane Bassett and Kevin Haataja placed third. |
