Anderson Wins State Championship

Jennifer Anderson capped an undefeated season with the girls 124 pound state championship, winning 6-0 in the finals. Anderson won her two Friday matches with pins in the first period, then beat her semi-final opponent 9-2.

All four state participants placed as we had a very good first day to move everyone on to Saturday and the placing matches. Katie Bond had an incredible tournament, placing fourth. After losing her first match to the eventual state champ, Katie won her next four loser-out matches to get into the third place match. Imani Hampton became just the fourth Jaguar girl to get to the semi-finals, and she ended up with a sixth place finish. In the boys tournament, Cayle Williams was the lone representative, placing eighth in a very competitive weight class.
